Lockdown Blues Band

WHHHAT??!?! Two post in one day? Yep! I am cranking through some shoots I have done in the last two weeks and if I don't post them now, I just may not get to it!

These guys are a blues band hailing from Durham, NC. There guitar player is a friend of mine from Appalachian. He called me up.. actually he facebooked me.. and asked me to take a few pics for their myspace. (We are SOOOO all about social networking! haha) They are wanting to start booking some gigs around the area. We spent a little time in Durham walking around the American Tobacco District. We found a couple of nice spots before being run-off by the rent-a-cops. Apparently it is privately owned and you have to have permission to shoot there... oops! They weren't nasty about it though, and thankfully we were pretty much finished anyway! Here are some of my favorites.

The band: Steve "Jake" Gallagher - Guitar, Tim "The Toolman" Taylor - Lead vocals & Harmonica, George "Geo" Woods - Bass Guitar (or Dad Guitar...if you watch FOTC), Will "Slick Willy-B" Bulk - Guitar, Matt "Big Daddy" Jenkins - Drums/Percussion

Miss Emma!

About two weeks ago I had the privilege of photographing a sweet little girl named Emma. I spent the afternoon with her, her mother, and some special friends and relatives. Emma has Mixed Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. She struggles to do many of the daily things that the rest of us take for granted. And yet, despite the difficulties she faces, she is full of life and joy! Emma is 11 years old, and she loves some country music! She also loves the attention of her family and friends. She has two special pets that love her as much as she loves them. I was truly blessed to hang out with this group for an afternoon! God could not have placed Emma in a more loving or supportive environment. Thank you all for letting me hang out with you!

Gettin' ready!

Emma got a manicure for the occasion!

This is definitely one of my favorites.

Pretty little lady!

Everyone loves a snow day!

So here I am looking out on a wintery wonderland as I type this! I LOVE snow. It reminds me of when I lived in Boone, and it makes me happy. This morning I was up at 7:30 am to see if the weatherman had gotten my hopes up for nothing. If you know me, you know I don't ever get up that early if I don't have to! But to my very pleasant surprise and utter joy, there was lots of snow on the ground and lots more falling from the sky. Today was pretty much perfect. I had a dance party. I even had a photoshoot with my sister in the snow (yay new myspace and facebook profile pics!!!). Here are some of them! I am so happy!!

Wedding: Denise and Stan

FINALLY I can post this lovely couple's wedding day! It's gonna be a long one, so just relax and enjoy. You will recognize Denise from the last post. Her wedding day was the day after Christmas in Old Salem. It was a really sweet ceremony outside with only their closest friends in attendance. This wedding was an especially fun one for me because I got to partner with my dad! He is a pastor, and was officiating the ceremony for Denise and Stan. This was actually our second father-daughter wedding:-). Moving on. After the ceremony Denise and Stan and I wandered around Old Salem taking some fun couple shots. I have to go ahead and explain that I got carried away with wanting to post these fun portrait shots that I just decided to forgo posting shots from the rest of the day. So, my apologies for the post being a bit unbalanced! Here are my (many) favorites.

"I will be glad and rejoice in Thee"

This is my dad! He's studying his lines!

Yes, my dad is a giant:-). Aren't Denise's flowers cheerful?!

Now for fun portrait time!!

Lover's walks:-)

Remember how I told you in Denise's post that the people dress in costume? Well, I was so happy we got this one to make a pass for the pictures! Yay!

This is one of my favorite favorites:-) I like how immense the bridge seems.

Making it official!

There were some yummy treats for the guests! Homemade apple pie! yummmm!

Congratulations you two! It was such a blessing to be a part of your very special day!
PS. If you would like to schedule your own father-daughter combination photographer and officiant, just give me a shout! ;-)
