Indie + Evoke = Invoke.

Let me just say that I am so glad to know April @ Evoke! She is a good buddy of mine and was kind enough to let me tag along on one of her engagement shoots two weeks ago. I had such a fun time with her and her couple. She just finds genius places to shoot, and the couple was fun and funky! I would love to photograph tattooed individuals all day long. Love it! I really liked some of my shots from the session. So, I hope she doesn't mind but I am going to post two! I can't take credit for the great couple or fabulous location (poo!) but these are just my interpretations of what I saw with my camera:-). Enjoy!

Faces: Kennedy

Meet Kennedy. While I have been trying to grow this "little" photography venture, I have had the immense pleasure of being a nanny to little miss Kennedy. But, she is more that just a little girl that I watch. She is my best friend's daughter, and I love her like she is my own. However, miss Kennedy, does not always like to have her picture taken. There are far more interesting things in this world to an almost two year old, than me and my camera. Last week, I had hoped to get some cute pictures of her with some pumpkins down at the farmer's market. I quickly discovered that it is no easy task to wrangle a baby and photograph her at the same time by yourself. No wonder there are professional "baby wranglers" at some studios! So I very quickly gave up the idea, and just enjoyed the day. I was able to snag one shot that I really liked, but it was before we even went to the market. haha. Oh well. This is Kennedy:

Faces: Addison and Hudson

Meet the newest addition to the Pearce family, baby Addison, and her big brother Hudson! Their mommy and I have been friends since middle school, and I was really excited to have the chance to photograph her little ones! Besides having one of my favorite names, Addison is a precious baby! She put up with a lot from me, and let us know when she had had enough! But she was so photogenic! Big brother Hudson was a trip. He has some of the best expressions! I don't think there are any two with the same face. He did so well he was rewarded with fruit snacks! It is ok to bribe children, right? ha. Here are my favorites.

Addison

Have to show the toes!

I think this may be the closest we have to a smile:-)

I love this. She was the most content when she had her passy.

Hudson on Daddy's Harley!

Almost!

He has some of the prettiest blue eyes!

He is so cute!

Praise Ye The Lord.

Lately I have been feeling very nostalgic. I have been listening to some of my old favorite music, thinking about old friends, and college. But I have found myself thinking most of all about the time that I spent in Brazil last year. Now that it is October, it really seems like fall, which is my favorite time of year. But, in thinking about fall, it makes me remember how last year I didn't have a fall at all... I really just had an extended summer down around the equator for 4 months. However, even in the absence of chilly weather and colored leaves, it was the best fall I have ever had. I fell more in love with a people and a place, and I left part of my heart with them. Tonight I was looking through my pictures from that time last year, and I found this video. It made me smile. I miss these faces so much, and I sincerely long to go back to them someday soon. Their voices are so precious to my heart.

So, I know this is more personal than professional, so here are some stills just so it's not completely unrelated to photography...

One of my favorite places on this Earth.

One of my neighbors.

How cool does that paint job look?! Ha, I love it:-)

Have a Happy Fall!
