Wedding: Denise and Stan

FINALLY I can post this lovely couple's wedding day! It's gonna be a long one, so just relax and enjoy. You will recognize Denise from the last post. Her wedding day was the day after Christmas in Old Salem. It was a really sweet ceremony outside with only their closest friends in attendance. This wedding was an especially fun one for me because I got to partner with my dad! He is a pastor, and was officiating the ceremony for Denise and Stan. This was actually our second father-daughter wedding:-). Moving on. After the ceremony Denise and Stan and I wandered around Old Salem taking some fun couple shots. I have to go ahead and explain that I got carried away with wanting to post these fun portrait shots that I just decided to forgo posting shots from the rest of the day. So, my apologies for the post being a bit unbalanced! Here are my (many) favorites.

"I will be glad and rejoice in Thee"

This is my dad! He's studying his lines!

Yes, my dad is a giant:-). Aren't Denise's flowers cheerful?!

Now for fun portrait time!!

Lover's walks:-)

Remember how I told you in Denise's post that the people dress in costume? Well, I was so happy we got this one to make a pass for the pictures! Yay!

This is one of my favorite favorites:-) I like how immense the bridge seems.

Making it official!

There were some yummy treats for the guests! Homemade apple pie! yummmm!

Congratulations you two! It was such a blessing to be a part of your very special day!
PS. If you would like to schedule your own father-daughter combination photographer and officiant, just give me a shout! ;-)

Faces: Denise

Just two days before Christmas I headed down to Winston-Salem to shoot some portraits for Denise. Her wedding was scheduled just 3 days later on the 26th, and she wanted some shots of just her before the wedding as a surprise for her husband-to-be! How sweet is that? I was really excited about the shoot. They were getting married in Old Salem and so we agreed to do the pictures there. If you are not familiar with Old Salem, it is a really cool place that is set up like an old town in the 1700s or something, and all of the workers are dressed up in costumes of the time. They also make Moravian Cookies there. I recommend the Sugar and Lemon varieties. Anywho, we met up in the town square and had a blast exploring the streets and shooting. Here are just a few of my favorites. Look for her wedding to be posted soon!

Moravians love their stars. They were all over the place:-)

Ok, so I had to do a little grungy.. it's a iron fence around a cemetery!

Denise brought Stan's ring along so we got some fun ring shots as well!

Thanks, Denise for letting me photograph you, and for being such a cheerful and willing model!

Bradley/Hartley/Bowlin Family!

Yay! Finally back to real blog posting! I feel like it has been forever! Shortly before Christmas, my best friend asked me if I would shoot some portraits of her whole family, since everyone was going to be around for the holidays. There are 4 siblings, 2 spouses, 4 toddlers, 2 parents and 1 grandmother involved! I spent about an hour with them at their parents' house and it was a beautiful (though soggy) day to shoot! We got a few basic family shots and a few fun ones. Here are my favorites.

Nice and simple..everyone smile!

Then you tell them to just laugh and look at each other. How cute is that?

The Hartleys with one on the way!

I love happy accidents! This shot was completely unintentional. We were trying to get a shot of all the little ones putting their hands on mom's tummy, but this guy bolted just as I was taking the picture! So cute!

Shadows!

I realized with this shot, the more people you have the harder it is to get, but if you do get it, it is so neat! It is like I wasn't even there!

Hartley kids!

Siblings!

Bowlin Family

Don't all families hang out by their garage doors?
